Zekeriyaköy Housing Project
A peaceful life in the heart of nature, blending with the texture of the forest; a private sanctuary opening to every shade of green, away from city noise.
A residential project in Zekeriyaköy, part of Istanbul's Sarıyer district, north of the Belgrad Forest. The defining features of the area are its tree cover and garden living, and the design proceeded from both.
The living area was extended towards the garden and the transition between inside and outside resolved without reducing it to a single door. The shade of the trees was brought into the plan not as a constraint but as a light source that changes through the day.
Humidity governed material selection. Outdoors, solutions with long maintenance intervals were preferred; indoors, a calm palette of natural texture and neutral colour was built so as not to compete with the colour of the forest.
