School, Nursery & Campus Projects

In educational buildings the user is a child, and that changes every priority in the design. Whether a classroom is good shows in whether the student at the back can see the board comfortably and whether the teacher has to raise their voice.

Across the four projects we carried out for Sevinç Schools in Ataşehir — the main campus, the nursery, Sevinç Plus and the course centre — four issues were decisive: classroom geometry and sightlines, acoustics (keeping noise from carrying into the corridor and the neighbouring class), bringing in daylight without glare, and arranging shared areas so they do not jam at break time.

At nursery scale, safety and material durability are added: corner details, cleanable surfaces, basin and cupboard heights scaled to children, and an uninterrupted relationship between the play area and the interior. These decisions come from daily use, not only from regulation.

Frequently asked questions

Can a school refurbishment fit into the summer holiday?

With the right scope, yes. What matters is ordering long-lead items before the holiday starts. We work the schedule backwards from the academic year and set out in writing when each item will be finished.

Which materials are preferred in a nursery?

Cleanable, impact-resistant and low-emission surfaces. Rounded corners, non-slip flooring and fittings dimensioned to children are basic requirements. Colour should be calming rather than stimulating.

How does the regulatory process work for educational buildings?

Educational buildings carry additional requirements: escape routes, stair widths, area per classroom, ventilation. At the start of a project we review the current regulations and the institutional approval process together.
